Shift Firefighter-EMT or Paramedic (volunteer-stipend) 

May contain: helmet, extinguishing fire, fire, and person

  • EMS QRT
  • Wildland/Vegetation Firefighter
  • Water Tender/Apparatus Operator (only)
  • Reserve Volunteer

 

Shift Volunteer Firefighter (SVFF) is a volunteer position that serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. They perform within the scope of the policies and procedures of Pioneer Fire Protection District and they perform duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid, rescue, hazardous material responses, training, water rescue, technical rescue, public education, prevention and other duties.

SVFF maintains fire and emergency medical equipment, apparatus/vehicles, rescue tools and facilities. Teamwork, service and respect for diversity are priorities when working for the Pioneer Fire Protection District. SVFF receives a full stipend when qualified to do all three of the following disciplines per PFPD requirements: Structural, EMS, and Wildland. Partial stipends when qualified to do two of the three disciplines.
